we know that how the water evaporates from the water bodies and subsequent condensation of this water vapor leads to rain. But we don’t see the seas and oceans drying up. The whole process in which water evaporates and fall on land as rain and water flows back into the river or sea is known as water cycle. This cycle is not as straight forward and simple as this statements seem to imply. All of the water that falls on the land does not immediately flow back into the sea. Some of it seeps into the soil and becomes part of the underground reservoir of fresh water.

some of this underground water finds its way to the surface through springs. Or we bring it to the surface for our use through wells or tube wells. water is also used by terrestrial animals and plants for various life process. let us see the another aspect of what happens during the water cycle. as we know water is capable of dissolving a large number of substances. As water flows through or over rocks containing soluble minerals some of them get dissolved in the water. Thus rivers carry many nutrients from the land to the sea and these are used by the marine organisms.

The water cycle depicts the continuous movement of water within the Earth’s and atmosphere’s atmosphere. It is a complicated system with numerous processes. Liquid water evaporates into water vapor, condenses into clouds, and falls back to earth as rain and snow. Water in various phases circulates through the atmosphere (transportation). Runoff is the movement of liquid water across land, into the ground (infiltration and percolation), and through the ground (groundwater). Groundwater moves into plants (plant uptake) and evaporates into the atmosphere from plants (transpiration). Solid ice and snow can spontaneously decompose into gas (sublimation). When water vapor solidifies, the opposite can occur (deposition).

A lack of adequate water supplies, flooding, or deteriorating water quality have all had an impact on civilization, both now and throughout history. These issues can have an impact on the economy, energy production and consumption, human health, transportation, agriculture, national security, natural ecosystems, and recreation.


How does the atmosphere act as the blanket?
*It maintain the consistency in temperature throughout the day making it a comfortable place to stay.
*The ozone in the atmosphere is responsible for maintaining the temperature without letting the harmful ultra violet rays effect.
*keeps the average temperature of the earth fairly constant during day time and even during the course of whole year.
*It prevents a sudden increase in the temperature during day time.
*It slows down the escape of heat from the surface of the earth into outer space during night time.

How are clouds form?

During the day time in the presence of sunlight water from the source like river, lake, pond, sea and various other source get evaporated and this water vapor rises up with the hot air. At a particular height, the air cools and the water vapor condenses to form a minute droplets to form a cloud.

What causes wind?

The uneven heating of the earths surface is the main cause for the winds. On being heated more the air rises up and hence low pressure is created. Hence the air in high pressure occupy the low pressure region causing the wind.

Water is found in all three states like:
*A solid state [Snow, Ice]
*Liquid state [River, Water, Underground water]
*Gases state [Water Vapor]

Oxygen is present in two forms:

*Triatomic molecular form[O3].
